When I was forced out of New Orleans by the ravishing 2005 floodwaters of Hurricane Katrina, I ended up in a small town just 3 hours away. I didn't know what to do in this small town, so I got bored and began to write nonstop without thinking about it. The beautiful scenery outside my front door gave me inspiration to write. I write for my local newspaper and has completed a book, and has started another. I discovered that writing was my passion all along. It took a disaster for me to discover my hidden talent.
