April M. LaLand was born in the Bronx, New York in 1969 to loving parents. Her Mother tragically died when she was only 8 years old, which transformed her life and began a downward spiral into darkness. While most of her early childhood and adult life was filled with rape, prison, abuse and addiction; she eventually found solace in seeking and accepting Christ in her life. She began a new way of life in living for The Lord. She eventually became a proud Mother, graduated college with honors and is now an accomplished Author, Mentor to women in crisis and a powerful Motivational speaker. April LaLand is inspiring those still lost in the perils of addiction and abuse by speaking on how God transformed her life and empowering women with her message of hope, health and healing.
