A wisp of grass hangs from the eaves and marks a sparrow's nest.

An orange cat with narrowed eyes,
after tree climbing, stretches for a rest.

The rough texture of sun-warmed brick contains points of light and dark. tiny violet weaves in the breeze in the grass in the park.

All these and more are blessings
on me, beatitudes.
That I can see and love them
brings the peace of gratitude.

Whether each day be hard and bright or misty, soft and gray.
To rise, take note, give thanks, is how I pray.,
