Shanna Rae

I don't write because I have to or because it is going to change the world. I write because sometimes in this crazy world, the only thing that can comfort me are my sloppy words written on a crinkled sheet of paper.

I turned 27 and realized that I have been writing for almost 20 years now. It seems like just yesterday I was coming up with funny little detective stories when I was 8 or 9 and sappy, puppy-love poems at age 11 or 12. I would do anything to have some of the very first pieces that I wrote so long ago.

I may never be published or become famous, but if just one person can relate to something I have written, I have fulfilled my duty as a poet. My words are merely vessels of thought filled with an array of emotion. All I can do send them on a journey to the eyes of anyone willing to read them. :)
