In the Afterglow

In the Afterglow

A Poem by EVERYTHINGyoucantelltoSTRANGERS
"

something for english the other day, losely based on angels and humanity... *losely*

"

Once again

Discoloring the angel wings

She walks among indifferent mortality

The burning clear in the irises

As she continues to avoid eye contact

Sleep deprived as per usual

Dimming the iridescence

Of her metallic hair

She continues to pound the concrete

With her eyes on the crosswalks

More often the asphalt

Beneath her feet

The filth of all the cigarette smoke

Making it difficult to breathe

Making light of her willowy limbs

She takes herself down a few feet

Ridding herself of earthly glances

At her inseams

Everyone’s pleasantries

Still messing with her head

Pulling down her halo

She takes off her incandescent façade

Walking among fatal humanity

With a slower deliberate step

Their very appearance

Making her cough

Staring out the window

At the 24 hour coffee shops

She started to pull up her tights
