Michelle

This is one of many of the poems my father has written me during the years he spent in prision before he passed away...

Michelle

 

Many people have stories

they so often fail to tell

But mine must be told

so I'll title it "Michelle"

 

Now Michelle's a little lady

as pretty as can be

with a smile as bright as sunshine

for all the world to see

 

She means more to me

than anything in the world

And I'm so proud to say

she's my little girl

 

She'll always be my little girl

and a little lady as well

She's also a child of God

which is really and truly swell

 

Maybe I'm just a proud parent

or bias as can be

I only know Michelle is special

and she's everything to me
