Locomotive Of Life

"

A poem describing how life is a train journey

"
Locomotive of Life

Being born arriving at the station
first waking moments a sense of elevation

Learning to walk the first movement along the track
Falling and hurting ones self
Showing ware your first crack

Told “no” to stupid answers and “yes” to ones which please
the authorities your teachers the lights are these

Getting older searching adventure a crossroads in your way
you’re a train on its journey the destination your say

Avoid derailments try to stay clean
find your adventure live for your dream

join me share a journey our tracks parallel and free
no obstacles just two trains the way it will always be

Very clever analogy of life. I've never read one regarding trains, which definately makes this original.

Like it - lovely lyrical language. Train journeys are a goldmine for creative writing. But don't you think train tracks work better as metaphor for restrictive authorities rather than freedom, and parallel tracks tend to carry trains in opposite directions?

Excellent metaphor for living life.

I really liked this poem. I loved how you compared life to a train ride. I thought it was really clever! Good job.
