The Ultimate Conflict

The Ancient Battle

Time has respected

Horns and halos

Locked in a struggle

Each appearing to gain dominion

Hope roots for white,

Despair cheers for black

Those on the sidelines watch

Expectant, anxious

Faith trusts that love

Conquers hate

Yet doubt grasps the onlookers

But there is an advantage

Evil fights only for greed,

Love fights for altruism,

For the reward of each heart

He formed all,

And strives to redeem

The Deceiver aims only to shame

He is driven by jealousy

of his superior

He is demented beyond all reckoning

This Tempter revels in all suffering

And laughs on his

Throne of the Damned

Pleased at ruling nothing less

Than death

Let him not be underestimated,

For he causes all

Strife, chaos, and pain

Be wary of him, men of Adam!

Let His strength

Shield you,

For although the Evil One

Cringes at the thought,

He has already been defeated

The end is already known

The price of the soul

Purchased

And here we humans

Live,

Oblivious of

Heaven’s affairs
