Imperfect

Imperfect

A Poem by QuantumPlateShone

My mind surprised me.

I could feel water on my hand,

Coiling, wrapping, and pouring

Through my fingertips.

Taste sat on my tongue

Yet I could not define its flawless flavor.

Music ran into my ears with eagerness.

The most sweet and gentle notes,

The most perfect ones,

Able to strike chords within my soul.

I could smell the sent of flowers and the

Perfumes of nature.

Then I opened my eyes

And can describe nothing but ultimate beauty

Unreachable by mortal blemish

I immediately thought of heaven

But knew even this, yes,

Was still too far away and to far from perfection

To be of heaven.

Not even the imagination

Could possibly know

Heaven’s splendor

What beings propose of glory, is simply a gray story
