Welcome to Hell

Welcome to Hell

A Poem by 1Disawsum

She sits on her bed, waiting.
She hears the footsteps,
Coming closer, and closer still...
Then stops.
Her heart is thumping,
She feels ready to explode.
The door handle is twisting now,
She is trembling in fear.
She sees a shadow on the floor,
His face masked by the silhouette,
Coming from the light surrounding him,
Making him look more menacing.
Her breathing slows down,
She is sweating cold tears.
Her heart is in her mouth,
She feels sick to the stomach.
She is so close now, so close
To her plummet.
All she hears are words,
Jumbled together, then joining.
Her ears ring from the noise in her head,
All she could see were her own fears.
The men, the masks, the cold, cold air.
She couldn't stop, she was too far in.
She was only a few seconds away,
She could feel it engulf her body,
Like an overstuffed blanket,
Ready to shatter any moment.
She felt ready, she felt powerless.
There was nothing to stop her,
No-one to be her prince charming.
She was all alone with her fears.
He came closer, and closer,
Until she could smell his smell.
The last thing she heard was,
'Welcome to Hell."
