Summer's Heat

Summer's Heat

A Poem by 1Disawsum

The summer heat,
Brandishing us from all cruelty
Of the cold, uneventful winter's day.

The heat is unbearable,
It is 41°C out here.
The sun hits our backs
Like the burning sensations of a fire felt.

Women, dressed in bikinis,
Ready to have a tan.
Men dressed in board shorts,
Ready to hit some waves.

Young women in bikinis,
Laying on beach towels,
No sun protection, only
Inviting carcinoma.

This is the way
The Australian life goes.

Once summer comes to town,
All beaches are crowded,
And everybody's at the mercy
Of the hot, Australian rays of sunshine.

About
I'm sitting here behind a screen, Writing about my past like I don't care. Like it's in the past, And I'll never go back there again. But the truth of the matter right now, Is that every secon.. more..
