The Mighty Sea

Wrote this sitting on a dock at sunset, watching 4th of July fireworks, with my bare feet dangling over the water, and a barbeque with my softball team going on behind me.

Can not compare 

With the water's true

Willingness and dare

The water is always changing

 Always moving

 Creating a scene

 Calm and soothing

But in the depths

 Is where the real story is told

 Where all fish live

 Some as pure as gold

The sea can inspire

 And can scare

 Depending how you look at it

 And how much you care

The beach

Is where I belong

 Because I sing

 To the ocean's song

The salty air

 And the sea breeze

 Makes me forget

 The grass and trees

 

When I look at

 The horizon beyond

 I realize that

 It creates a stronger bond

Listening to the sound

 Of the ocean waves

 With my feet dangling

Above the watry graves

With the ocean waves

 Lapping the shore

Makes me believe

 And makes me sure

That the world beyond

 Is greater than even this

 Even greater than

 A sweet angel's kiss
