Heaven

Heaven

A Poem by Royal Martinez
"

It may not be what we expect.

"
Inside a heart,

Resides the journey worthy of being deemed everlasting

Voices in mind,

Defile the find of a treasure so undefined.

Off key!

Blindsided, unwilling to be swayed

From the way a note is played.

Arrogance unrefined,

Bridles the steed ridden by those

Whose soul beats on, to an erratic speed.

          Spurred by zephyr,

The voyage, unable to cease.

The bet is to aim higher before one expires.

The trick is to go further afore one grows tired.

Were it that the top shelf was lower

Power would be meaningless.

Then Death would make sense!
