Completely

Completely

A Poem by Stacy Purvis

Completely

{Verse One}
Death can't take away 'me and you'
Baby our Red, White and Blue
I fell apart when you went away
Your smile, etched in my memory
Takes me back to the fateful day

{Chorus}
You're finally free to be
No more pain
No more prison
Finally free to be who
You were meant to be.
You're finally free to be
No more pain
No more prison
Finally free to be who
You were meant to be...
You deserved so much more.

{Verse Two}
You'll live forever inside me
I'll be keeping our memory alive
Death cannot define you
And I'll see you in a few
Just like I promised, boo

You're finally free to be
No more pain
No more prison
Finally free to be who
You were meant to be.
You're finally free to be
No more pain
No more prison
Finally free to be who
You were meant to be...
You deserved so much more.

{Bridge}
Confined, Imprisoned, Out of reach
No one could ever understand
What it was like to be you
And I won't even pretend that
I could, but I loved all your
Pieces, broken or not,
I loved you, completely.

{Chorus}
You're finally free to be
No more pain
No more prison
Finally free to be who
You were meant to be.
You're finally free to be
No more pain
No more prison
Finally free to be who
You were meant to be...
You deserved so much more.

{Outro}
Baby, I loved you completely.

Your lyrics convey different scenes to me at the current times. They can easily represent conflict of all sorts. Whether that be rioting and looting following police brutality of the suffering of many by covid, the unseen enemy. The loss of losing someone dear to you is incredibly painful. A sad and undeserving end for the one who has gone, but a form of hell for those left behind.

This to me sounds like a farewell for now, but not forever. Within the world we entrust with our humanity, there's conflict and tragedy. This hit close to home. Great job.
