There and back again...

There and back again...

A Poem by 23rdstar

I'm dancing with Sophia because she is the only one to dance with
The only one that i'll let myself get near
And the dust is kicked up in little clouds by the steps, twists and turns
She grins her big grin up from the ground and rolls over on her back
Then leaps up to be held
Yet it's not enough to quench the need, the ache deep inside

Been left behind, been told to leave, been given away
Been there and back again

Standing out on the green hills looking down over the little houses, streets and shops
Sweating in the cold
Carrying the weight of my own world on my back
Trying not to look up but having to
And see that life is about living
Not fretting the days away in the dark
Planning for things that might never come

Been left behind, been told to leave, and given away
There and back again was the name of the game

Her sweet kisses raining down, not letting loose with her arms or legs
Holding on tight while her voice cries out
Deep inside her slick wet heat
For what neither wants to admit could be the last time
Grasping at joys neither though would happen
But came, and came, and came

I left you behind, you didn't want to let me leave, you wanted to keep me close
And not give me away
There and back again...
