Just an Idea...

Short Scene

       Alexander is watching me, thinking I am unaware of his gaze. I sit there writing, my hair making a wall between us as I lean over the paper. My pen flows over the paper as I write out my notes for history, stopping whenever I need to glance at my textbook. The longer his eyes take me in, the hotter my cheeks get, and the harder it is to focus. Finally, I put the pen down and toss my hair to the side as I turn my head to look at him, an eyebrow arched, “Yes?” I ask him.

“Nothing,” he looks away and I see him blush from being caught watching me. He starts to write out notes.

“Well, you’ve been looking at me for a little while, you must want something,” I lean back and fold my arms across my chest, smirking.

Alexander stammers, “I just think you are beautiful to look at.” He gets closer to his paper that he is writing on, seemingly nervous. I stare at him, at a loss of words from the compliment. He looks up at me from his paper when I don’t say anything for a couple seconds. It’s his turn to smirk at me, “So, who’s flustered now, huh?”

“Oh, um,” I struggle to say something, “It’s just, I’ve never been told that before.”

Alexander looks surprised, “Really?”

“Yep,” I pick my pen back up and go back to my notes. I end up staring at the textbook blankly, my mind still trying to wrap around the fact that I’ve just been called beautiful.
