Red Mist

Red Mist

A Poem by Stuart Watson
"

This is a poem about anger, when the red mist comes down and you can't control it.

"

On a normal day things are calm,
But as the day goes on you better watch out.
Bubble bubble bubble it slowly goes,
Slowly creeping up to surprise me
Why does this happen to me.
I'm fighting to keep it down
Thinking of good things, things that make me happy
Slowly slowly the trigger is pulled back
Fighting against the pull.
Little things happening to me
It's ok it's only small, and another small one
Oh no and another and another.
The heat is rising, my stomach turning.
It's only going to need a spark,
It's like putting a match to a fuse.
Then whoosh, the rage shows it's ugly face
Dancing in the flames of the devil
You lose control nothing can stop it now
The emotion runs riot, the anger runs riot
Confusion in my mind, get it back in
It puts up a fight, it's released
It likes what it's doing playing, smashing
objects anything that's close.
I have to regain control, control the lungs
Come on brain step in,pull it back.
Come on pull, pull, pull nearly there.
It's back where it came from
That red mist that descended on me
From where I do not know
But calmness is restored until
the next time.
