A Poem by Kat-Marie Berti

The years have passed me by

Who is this stranger that appears in the mirror

The question I ask myself is why

As the end looms toward me nearer

Times of old are simply memories

The crying is gone and done with

I’m not giving out anymore apologies

Now’s the time to get rid of the filth

Plato said 'The unexamined life is not worth living...' Your poem reminded me of the truth to that statement. Very revealing and troubling, yet the hope is moving forward with determination, into that bright new world.

Very good work!

I like this poem. It says a lot without too much fuss. I'd reword the last line in the first verse a little but that's just a minor thing! Good writing.
