Growing Up;

Growing Up;

A Poem by C.

Surrounding ourselves in midnight sighs
We'll laugh and then we'll touch thighs
Cause we can't be concerned with goodbyes
And we won't apologize

We're still children at heart
But soon enough we'll drift apart
And soon enough I'll depart
And find a new start

Wish it could forever be this midnight
But soon the sun will show its light
But I think that we'll be alright
Even if growing up gives us a fright

But you said we wouldn't grow up, you swore
And yet it's happening now for sure
We're just shells of what we were before
Wish we could be young once more

As the sun grows up in the sky
I just want to sing a lullaby
Because I don't want to say goodbye
Wish all this we could just deny

Truthfully, I think we'll be okay
But I'm still afraid to walkaway
When I just wish for yesterday
But neither will I overstay

Surrounding ourselves in midnight sighs
We'll laugh and then we'll touch thighs
Cause soon we'll have to say goodbye
And we just can't deny

Wonderful.
My fav. lines: "soon the sun will show its light
But I think that we'll be alright
Even if growing up gives us a fright" .. these lines having so much depth in it. In reality, whatever you pen`d always happened to each and every loving soul. Sun gets up. Moon gets up. Lights get lighten up. Fire gets denied. More hunger of darkness comes along the shades of grey and by the end, "childhood" went away. Nice imagery!

WOW!! this just left me speechless. Its absolutely beautiful. I love the rhyming in it!! and the sad reality of growing up but trying hard to fight it and still keep that childish nature. :-D Thank you for sharing!! this is going into my library as a favorite for sure!!!!!
