Deathbed

Deathbed

A Poem by Adam Lain

Whether or not God is looking down, or the Devil is glaring up;

without this love I am nothing, just your gaze is enough.

To contemplate this feeling, it puts others to shame;

the anguish, pain, exhaustion;

senses become dull, senses become tame.

Hate has no place here, only warmth dwells beside,

Im not always this brimming optimist, but you make me look towards the light.

But I have this feeling towards God; stiflingblasphemous, cold

...

Why did cancer take you, as I stand above your tombstone?

Author's Note

Adam Lain
I've never had a CLOSE loved one die before, so, I tried to reach inward and see how I would feel if it happened...this is a short tid bit of what I MIGHT feel.
