Liberty

Liberty

A Poem by Aianarie (INACTIVE)

The world around me is overflowing

Filling my mind to the brim

With inspiration, with beauty, with awe.

This new place is so empowering

Though so lowly, I feel as if I'm on top of the world

Dreaming with history's visionaries.

Standing on such hallowed ground

Where admirable men of past's dignity

Cultivated the values which have been lost in time.

Now I sit here and wonder...

...What have we done here?

Destroyed are the things that took so long to build:

Murdered liberty, slaughtered hope.

Lord, help us; show us the light, the truth, and the way;

So that we may see the forgotten break of day,
