Gentle Giant

Gentle Giant

A Poem by AMP
"

I have no IDEA how to desrcibe this poem... Any takers?

"

Death itself is scared away by your presence.

Pain is inflicted from your gaze.

Hairs will stand up by the heat of your breath,

But the chill in your tone makes them fray.

We never see you coming, for you run so fast.

You haunt us from above in the shelter of the trees.

You leave chaotic destruction in your path.

We all climb to reach for you from the debris.

Gentle giant,

Please don’t hurt me.

Gentle giant,

I don’t deserve you.

You are disturbed, and your sanity lies with my love.

I calm you and keep you when you are breaking inside.

I am the only thing strong enough to lift you up.

You could kill the world, but it won't ease your mind.

One day I find you flung to pieces in sorrow.

I rescue the drifting parts of yourself.

When the tears are dried by the sun of tomorrow,

You come upon the world confident and newly fastened together.

Gentle giant,

Do you hear me crying?

Gentle giant,

I love you.

Please, stop and break these heavy chains of hate.

Don't make me carry your faith for you when I know you can.

I have the only keys to your heart,

And I will unabashedly force my way in.

The world is not wholly evil.

Why should you care what the scorners say?

I know you do not mean to lose yourself,

But promise, for me, that you'll try not to anyway.

I am the dove in the hunter's arms,

But he could never cause me any harm.

It is something that I barely understand.

You are the lion that lays down beside the lamb...

You are a gentle giant.
