SOMEONE STOLE MY UNICORN

SOMEONE STOLE MY UNICORN

A Poem by DONALD EISSLER
"

Just a deam .....

"

Someone stole my Unicorn
Someone stole my Dream.
Now my heart is broken
She was not the one it seems.

My Dream has turned to ashes

Only a memory in my mind.
A Dream never realized
Sometimes life can be unkind.

The residue is blowing
Across the meadow fair,
Spreading tears of ashes
With no one there to care.

Blinded by my imagination
Or maybe by my Dreams,
Looking at the moonlight
Riding one too many beams.

Will I be like a Phoenix
Come rising from the ash,
Or like a bolt of lighting
And be nothing but a flash?

So if I do again arise
From the remnants of my past
I shall be much more careful
Not to fall in love so fast.

For I will spread my wings
Over mountains,over dale
Hoping there is someone
Whose love I shall not fail.

So if you have a dream
That you would like to share
Start looking for a Phoenix
Flying through the air.

He will take you with him
But there might be some delay
There may be someones dragon
He needs to slay along the way

Freely flowing words and rhymes of disappointment - but willingness to fly again with the hope to attain what was lost. Will you, Phoenix, compose music to this almost BLUES?

Inspiring bit of prose. TK has been retired with this piece. They should call you Father Minstrel, because you have seen life and lived to tell about it in a rhythmic, sobering way. You also have the look of Father Time or Father Christmas.

Delightful! Very mythical with a ring of truth and reality. You rhyme in your poetry so easily and well that it never comes across as trite or simplistic. It provides a smooth, lilting flow to your work. I am jealous of that ability! I like how you compare Unicorns and dreams...nice one, my friend!

I always like reading about you and your unicorn.

Stunning. The feel of this is light and familiar, perhaps enchanting and it delivers a classic feel I cannot pin down but love to visit again.
