IF I COULD PAINT PICTURE

IF I COULD PAINT PICTURE

A Poem by DONALD EISSLER
"

READ AND YOU WILL UNDERSTAND HOPE YOU ALL ENJOY

"

Van Gogh painted a picture
Of a psychedelic Starry Night
Munch had a screaming head
Running away in fright
Shakespeare wrote of Romeo
And his love for Juliet
How it ended in tragedy
This we shan’t forget
Plato wrote of a magic place
Atlantis was it name
He never really saw it
But believed it just the same
If I could paint a picture
It would be of you instead
This would be a masterpiece
With your hair of auburn red
.
I do not need a Van Gogh
For you are my Starry Night
The moon would be smiling down
Not trying to run away in fright
.
And the love I have for you
Would not end in tragedy
But go on forever
Right through eternity
.
The magic place I'd write about
Is right here in my heart
There will be no more make believe
It's where my love will start
.
So let me paint that picture
With me right by your side
For I want the world to know
My love for you is bona fided

oh okay, I've been reading a few pieces that are making me rethink the understanding of men. I'll say what i said before, I love the way you are tapping into the minds of women. Finding that special way to secure their faith and trust. The need to feel secured with someone seems to be fulfilled in this piece. I enjoyed this. I like the way you used the socially accepted 'masterpieces' to emphasize the importance of this woman

This is one of your better works Donald. I really love the way you have shown a picture can add so much to poetry.
