Fondness of the Heart

Fondness of the Heart

A Poem by Daniel S.
"

I'm alive to love others.

"

Sorrow sank deep inside my blood,

My heart’s bent into pieces,

The monster of solitude had gotten to me,

It feasted on the heart,

Leaving it out there, vulnerable and exposed,

Hoping for you to once again mend it.

Every passing day is like another page in this journal,

A sad story that never closes with a happy ending.

The ink on the pen has been running low,

With you not around, there’s no point for this to go on.

Fighting a disease, harder than any encountered,

There aren't any pills for this abstract pain.

The only cure to this disease is your grace, I’m not ready to die.

Emotions are expressed in actions, words hard to define.

Life wouldn't be so precious dear, if we never wanted to resign.

Matter will one day cease to exist, and I love you, it’s devotion.

If your grace is a puddle, I see a bottomless ocean.

Love’s just a shout into empty space, and it’s only heard by few.

There’s no death, no end of times, when I’m facing it with you.
