The Scarlet Ibis

The Scarlet Ibis

A Poem by Aanisha_K_Gill
"

This is a poem that I've thought about writing after reading the story The Scarlet Ibis. This is the story in a poetic form.

"
I have tried until the end to please you,
I kept pushing myself harder and harder,
But it seems to me that letting go of our unbreakable bond will pay the price of the unwanted death of the bird.
The cloudy rain washed off the bloody tears,
The fact of taking you as a mistake, and a joke bothered me,
Letting go of that bond triggered me and mislead me that I kept pushing you until your death,
The fear of those teary eyes has destroyed me,
The wind comes around whispers your name until i start crying,
Your death was the only to pay the debt of an unmistaken bird the Scarlet Ibis!
