Goodbye

Goodbye

A Poem by Abhishek Ram
"

This is a breakup poem/possible lyrics, a love that is lost because of fault as seen by only one side. This is a planned arrangement with no music to it yet.

"

I met you a long time ago,

in some place so common and inane,

And yet, we held onto it with a level of sanctity no one could ever again attain,

But now that once wonderful place brings up feelings of hate and dread,

And guess what? Now this is over as we try to expunge the importance from our heads,

Goodbye. See you never.                      (Chorus)

I hope we never cross in new endeavours,

I loved you once but i no more,

Because I kept score.

Every time you made it tough,

Every time you played it rough,

Every time I thought I’d had enough,

You came up with even more stuff.

This house we shared,

this pecuniary burden together we once beared,

Is now a just paper that has been teared,

a paper of which we no longer need be scared,

Because it’s done, it’s over,

we see the setting of the sun stretching and the shadows of the clovers,

And the violets weep and the roses sleep and the dam seeps,

I breathe deep then collapse in a heap.

(Goodbye. See you never.                                      (Chorus)

I hope we never cross in new endeavours,

I loved you once but i no more,

Because I kept score.

Every time you made it tough,

Every time you played it rough,

Every time I thought I’d had enough,

You came up with even more stuff.)

I never thought this would happen, but my stars were not so lucky,

That our relationship would turn a bad form of plucky,

But hey, here we are: score 1 for the haters,

Because we couldn’t beat them this time.

We’re done, leave it at that,

I feel so numb that we went splat,

I sat at that and had a chat with your cat and hit myself with a baseball bat,

Because, I loved you, and that’s gone now,

Our relationship went sour,

Something I had imagined would never happen later,

But unfortunately it became more sour than lime.

Goodbye. See you never.          (Chorus 2x)

I hope we never cross in new endeavours,

I loved you once but i no more,

Because I kept score.

Every time you made it tough,

Every time you played it rough,

Every time I thought I’d had enough,

You came up with even more stuff.

So, I bid you adieu, I hope we never cross,

You go south, I’ll go north, I’ll follow the stars,

While you go farther than a stone toss,

I’ll go insanely and amazingly far,

So goodbye. See you never.

I hope to never find you,

In any new endeavours.
