Mortal Engineering

A Story by Abishai100
"

Two video-game psyche-writers become immersed into that stranger dimension called 'Outworld' where they make for discovery in the bread/fruit of competition's (incomplete) diet.

"
A media-presentation of the universe of Mortal Kombat, drawing on lifestyle/culture/consumerism/games culture and themes. Hope you like it,

MARCUS: This Mortal Kombat experiment-board for violence is Selfie-bound!

AMLAN: Boy, I've played video-games all my life, and this new 'examination' of the graphics/ultra-violence of Mortal Kombat media (movies/games/comics) may just (simply) highlight my fascination with American Homeland Selfie-culture commentary for what's the design/flare of activity-based behavior-gusto for psychological surgery (even if only for a 'minutiae' of those incomplete-distances readings of what's basically an Earthling 'paranoia' in death's bread).

Well, for Amlan and Marcus, pals from Dartmouth, this cyber-culture 'street-examination' of the graphics/ultra-violence of the Mortal Kombat universe rendered a cool consumerism/lifestyle (American Homeland) net-view of the storyboards/psychology of expressions in behavior/activity and the contours/shapes in violence-arts in modern social media (wow). Was Mortal Kombat too graphic/violent, or was it an extension of the legacy of defined shock-value dramatics (e.g., Alfred Hitchcock), for tech/toys consumerism-and-lifestyle dialysis for Earthling-civilization?

MARCUS: Pal, me thinks we're inside the MK-dimension; shared dream?
AMLAN: We're certainly video-games fans and think alike, so why now?
MARCUS: Look, it's Raiden electrifying a nemesis...I wonder if he sees us!
AMLAN: This is the same ultra-violence we'd been reporting on in Earth, ok.
MARCUS: Perchance we integrate and make-friends...with Mileena, eh?
AMLAN: I fear these 'avatars' won't just simply 'absorb' us as buddies, man.
MARCUS: Damn...Facebook like.

Amlan/Marcus got rude-awakening(s) with their foray into the MK-universe when they realized they'd been transported inside the dream-world of that combat-rich franchise in a shared dream-sleep experience. Marcus was too busy thinking he'd engage with the more lovely avatars of Outworld in Mortal Kombat dimension, like the sultry Mileena, warrior-woman with fierce integrity! Amlan, meanwhile, took lethal-notes about his theories about the applications of ultra-violence psychology 'mechanics' as they rightly-applied to the outright death-adder hand-axes of the combat-drenched 'dominion' of darkness/lines.

AMLAN: That guy (Goro/) just got his head/spine systems removed, man.
MARCUS: Let's get the Hell out of here, pal.
AMLAN: Did you kiss Mileena, Marcus?
MARCUS: Man, that's that last thing dwelling in my consciousness, friend!
AMLAN: You said it...this is 'worldly' fear(s).
MARCUS: Facebook like...no.

When Amlan/Marcus returned to their Earth-realm, after awakening from their (shared!) dream-scape, they firstly/rightly affirmed their experience was mutual (somehow!). Amlan then purchased two very-lovely MK-media universe figurines for his home/apartment, a rendered beauty-metaphysics art-image of Kitana/Mileena, warrior-women of Outworld (wow).

AMLAN: Earthlings are hypnotized by field goals and competition-chess!
MARCUS: This Thanksgiving-football culture-symbol treasure-ring's IQ.
AMLAN: Sportsmanship-drawn language-lines for what's society-light.
MARCUS: Was Outworld real, do you think, pal?
AMLAN: As real as anything-else in Earth-realm that's (purely) dogma (ha).
MARCUS: Competition's dowry.
