The Girl With the Broken HeartA Poem by Abzi
With the dark night sky above her head,
And her thin, tender lips aglow with red, With her silken robes now torn to shreds, A young, fair maiden lightly treads, With hair so soft and brown and long, She follows the whispers of a broken song, Sodden in tears and rain and sweat, Her heart, full of sadness and lonesome regret, Traipsing the path with cold bare feet, Down a hill laden with grass and wheat, To a destination which no one knows, The girl with the broken heart slowly goes. © 2014 Abzi |
