Self portrait III

Self portrait III

A Poem by Wraith.

Shallow introspection
Extend and recoil
Anxious hands winding shreds of wool
Vapid vulture draped in skin
feigning hope

And the only insight is that there is no insight
Just poor regurgitation and petty adoption
There's something about a mindset fractured

Is it really self loathing if you look for an excuse
If you can't comprehend is it foolish to assume

I could adorn myself in dark incisive words
but none of it is true

sometimes we just can't see the good in ourselves even if we know it is there...we cover it in loathing, in self-deprecation so much that we fracture our emotions, and our vision of what we are...but it is still there...the good...your last two lines prove it....what an excellent, introspective write...
