Desert rose

Desert rose

A Poem by Adela Muresan
"

a reflection

"

The mask is heavy on the skin.

Are thease demons mine…

or are we just traveling together?

The questions lay dead at the bottom of the

old rusted black fountain of confusion.

My song echoes trough the cold wilderness,

of the night.

I walk on fed by dreams,

in a world of madness.

beautiful imagery Adela
I love the opening line:
"The mask is heavy on the skin."
...this is so true. I think it sets the stage for the rest of the poem too... there's a beautiful depth here an expression of feeling exhausted or burdened, without a sence of self pity.
...and though the poem feels very heavy it doesnt have that feeling of hoplessness.
I love the ending:
"I walk on fed by dreams, in a world of madness."
...beautiful write Adela ;)

interesting composition well expressed in poetic prose. I think we all are beset by our own demons as we travel through life. Your opening phrase is really impressive.Everyone wears some sort of mask for protection

Adela, this poem speaks in multitudes of and each line establishes its own subversives.. the opening
immediately drew me to a state of pondering .. with a feel for what is to come in way of dramatic
scenerio observation..the reader gets a sense of the depth..when thinking about a mask metaphorically

heavy on the skin.. because to take the moment and dwell on such reasons.. promotes the idea of
succumbing to the weight of the notion.. the tone is drowning.. and lucid in way of feel and subtle
descriptiveness reflecting an intoxicating effect put forth by the cause. being lead into darkenss.
Nice job.. well written.. I enjoyed reading the way you put this poem together with subjugated dynamics .

I loved the opening line.... but sadly I'm not sure if I get this poem, it's sounds lovely and has a wonderful cadence, but I feel like I've missed something vital to it and therefor can't quite appreciate it as I should.....
