A Poem by Adelise Eclair

my one regret...

You hold your heart out

Like a beggar on the streets...

Your eyes glazed and worn...

Shattered up and torn...

You hold my hand

But won’t take my glance...

You deny my heart...

You tear me apart...

You broke the mirror again....

I heard your screams....

..But didn't bother....

I know that you don’t,

Have any other

The child who won’t let go…

The child who will never know…

Of what lies rest within my keep

Of  butterflies and peaceful sleep
