Love poem for my boyfriend, cheesy and sweet

 “With You”

The space between my fingers seems to fit yours perfectly.

Your embrace wraps me tight and completely envelopes me.

Finishing my sentences as I know your exact response,

We are in perfect harmony.

You play rhythm and I’ll take up bass,

I’ll hand you a tambourine while I hum a few lyrics.

I’d fall forever in your smile

And you’d catch me every time.

Funny how these things work…

The yin to my yang, cliche and fulfilling--

Every cheeseball line and every sappy rhyme

All perfectly sums up what we have become.

My rock and my shelter,

Your comfort and warmth.

Me and you, you and me

What else do we need except a couple of cats to complete our little home?

We’re so far from perfect but flawlessness is all I feel.

I’ll fill in all your cracks and fissures,

Stitch each tear with softly spoken words of love.

I’ll build you up every day,

Hold you high

Rub away the aches and pains of a hard days work

And tell you that I’m yours.

Rest easy now,

The day is done

And I am here in your arms, right where I belong.
