I'm reading Lucretius this week. Your poem follow his thoughts and logic. He tried to figure contrast and element. People believed him loco. If you read his words. He was. Contrast of things keep the world off balanced and confused. I like the title and the thoughts create by the poem. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Astronomers say that at the beginning of the Big Bang if our universe had expanded in complete symmetry we would not exist because our universe would have lacked contrast. We owe our being to chaos.
I enjoyed this poem greatly; however, in the fifth line you seem to have strayed away from the nine syllable count you used for the rest of the poem, otherwise the rhythm and flow seem very precise. This piece is a well written piece, contrasting light and dark. It is true that without light we would have no shadows or any semblance of sight, and without black, white would not seem as bright as it does. Thank you for your thoughts

In my fifth line I used the word temporal which may be pronounced with either three or two syllables according to the dictionary that I’m using: Tem … prel instead of tem … pe … rel. I have kept my nine syllable count. We're both correct.

This might just be my favorite from you Aethereal. The beautiful metaphor, twist of brilliance. You can never truly appreciate the light until the you have witnessed the dark. Wonderful write.

Opal moments can be interpreted in as many ways as the poem has readers. I enjoyed this a lot. Good use of a fixed verse form linking the small with the infinitely large.

There are infinites inside of infinities. Everything has meaning.
