Falter

Falter

A Poem by Correspondence

I think I'm tired of being alone
Exhausted by my bedroom's utter suffocation
Crippled by the darkness I am smothered in,
The sweetest enfoldment

Lying here, tangled in sheets
Is there more to this?
Feeling like terrors, black monsters
Are clutching my throat
Hands claw my eyes

Endless fog
"What are you looking for?" They shriek,
"You're alone."
My efforts
Go unnoticed
I think I'm tired of being alone
But then I wonder,
Is this pain any better,
This dull throb
Than what you inflict upon me?
