Sombre Sleep

Sombre Sleep

A Poem by Reuben Porter
"

Another poem about the soldiers who died to protect what they love.

"

Do not show disappointment in our lost lives,
We knew the risks when we joined the fight,
We fought for freedom with valour and pride,
Now in sombre sleep we lie.

Against the odds we fought and died,
Our spirits hurt, our patience tried,
May our deaths be your guide,
Now in sombre sleep we lie.

why stick within the comformity of rhyme? shorten the lines and give the words more meaning. maybe even use old school words like thy tho' and shuch you take this to a whole new level. good luck.... i like the meaning tho' it does fit nicely.
