Digiverse

Digiverse

A Poem by Alessander
"

Tech-themed: "It is this divine side of man, his inward action, which means everything, not a mass of information" - Kierkegaard.

"
Encyclopedic mainframes /Lap-top heads
Power-boxes for multitudinous outlets, plugs, chargers
Conduits manipulating/Fiber-optic arteries /Artificial energy
ZAP/Pale lights/Computers aglow in dark
cloistered bedrooms/Powered pacemakers stalling at microwaves/Electrocuted blood - cookied fantasies
Ads proclaiming everything free!
Pharmaceutical elixirs for limpness, lumpiness, loneliness
Snake-oil for suffering/Nigerian kings, Syrian refugees
Pornography, clever memes, whimsical gifs, shocking news, witty banter/Socio-politic-religous-diatribes
Spewing on every thread

Existential vomit.
/Aroma-less cuisines
Vacuumed vacations/Youtubed communions/Suicide selfies.

 Crucifixdrones - pedolandia
Jdate.POF.AshleyMadison.Match. Eharmony.SpeedDate.OKcupid
CG. Missed encounters...
Serial killers, /Pixalated p*****s, vein-throbbed dick shots, cardboard gloryholes

Instagramed I/Inviolate I/Internet I

I    I     I

No sweaty arm pits, cottage cheese, gray nose hairs or belly fat
Computer [ScreenShot]
While behind, posters hang: The Doors, Tupac, NIN, The Smiths, Hendrix, Joy Division, Nirvana

HandshapedHeart.//2D souls/Text-dating
144 word manifestos /#revolutions/Archetype emoticons

Doodled centaurs /Caged in matrices

Transcendental notes/Need a hit/Of internet smack

A line, a pinch, a drag/A like, a comment, a kudos
A reply, a thumbs up, a share, a poke/One measly view
Baby, come on, give me a fix/Just one
Notification: ding-beep-buzzzz
I want to dissolve like alka-seltzer in tap water
Otherwise I'm a used-up toothpaste tube
Sitting in a dank medicine cabinet

If not, I am/A stick-figure created from matches
Drowning in a drum of gasoline

Not buried beneath pregnant soil
No. dumped into blue recycling bins.

The title is very fitting. The flow fit with the halting choppiness of the menu of technological refuse.

The last line was perfect!

For me, it was a bit long. But I suppose that mirrors the manner in which the internet survives in its endless array.

Impressive. The thread you pull us through from beginning to end kept to its premise, or the message you were jotting here for us. Excellent. Good to know you thanks for sharing ...

Thanks for checking out Digiverse. It's a lil rough around the edges, so glad you stuck it out.

You're most welcome buddy, thank you and same goes to you.
Modern man tends to seek fulfillment in all the wrong places, lives wasted trogging through wastelands as prey for lurid mirages. Some never get it, and others get it only in the last few seconds of their miserable trinket studded lives.

I really enjoy this theme and wish there was more writings related...

So about this "inward action" of the divine man, how could it be manifested.

You guaranteed something if I read this. Okay, so if I don't like it does it work like a warranty? What do I get in return? Just kidding, this prose was brilliant in it's own right.

No sweaty arm pits or cottage cheese, gray nose hairs or belly fat

"okay, I need to wash my mind with bleach, gross!"

Unfortunately it describes society to a T. We are always plugged in and looking for love or a fast fix. The internet is now like a greasy McDonald's Drive through...super size me. "high pixel count please" Lmao
So seriously, someday we will all be growing wires from our heads hands and feet.

Yep. That's how it is in our world. Short, sharp sentences and instant gratification on demand. No longer capable of independent thought, what will we become? This is an in-your-face reality check. Excellent write. Penny
