A Poem by Dynafox
"

A string of words I hope will hit a very complex emotion

"

When I was young,

It's where I want to be,

pick me up and turn me on.

When I come home,

she opens up her wings,

I know that this must be the place.

I can't tell one from another,

I am you or you are me,

There was a time before we were born,

Our parents thought that this is where we'd be,

Where are we?

It was time that lifted me off,

feet on the ground,

head in the stars,

Nothing more, this is all I need,

It's all I need.

Please won't you fill me up?

sing into my mouth,

I'm just an animal looking for a walnut,

She has weak in the hearts for you.

Coming home,

It's where I want to be,

I guess I'm already there.

I feel numb,

supporting of my heart,

I'm glad that this must be my place.

Hmm. Definitely complex. I'm under the impression that this poem is about being in love or being married or something along those lines, and having never been in that kind of relationship myself, I have to admit I'm not the best resource when it comes to whether or not you hit on that emotion accurately. But I do know that there is depth of feeling and complexity of ideas in this piece. There are themes of safety, comfort, passion, unity, confusion, euphoria, unfeelingness, belonging... lots of ideas, and probably others that I didn't pick up on. My favorite part is the stanza containing the line "head in the stars." Overall, this was interesting to read and think about. Nicely done!
