A Poem by Alexandra Christine Moxin

Catlike

circling catlike panthers crawl,

pacing continuous

dancing in shimmery crisp waves

undulation, annexation

disregard, fear of flying.

human nature snaps and spits

roaring like a fire - quick to die.

consequential passion spins its

sticky web-like trap.

dark and devious, sunday afternoons

whither into cool monday nights

moving, breathing, next to me

you rise and fall

and tell me that you fly in your dreams

i lie and say you live in mine

circling, catlike, panthers crawl.
