Lost

Lost

A Poem by Analgesia

If I were to lose you

in S.A.T. tests

in restless sleepless

never ending nights

where red lights

flash number by number

brighter and brighter

later and later

If I were to lose you

in application letters

in feathers in our caps

in tassels on our caps

a flower on your wrist

If I were to lose you

in worry

in visions of the future

in never being sure

If I were to lose you

in a poem

infinitely, urgently spoken

And if I wonder

I wonder

Are you already lost?

I am moved, slightly to the left and just above my heart. There is a calm sort of urgency, it seems to me anyway, in the many ways you can lose this person. You wonder if you should wonder, yet wonder anyhow. I do so love a poem that ends with a question.

I've settle into a routine: I'll stew in my own words for a few months, then, when there's been enough rumination I'll dispatch some sort of half cocked pile of context riddled with pretension and lov.. more..
