Penultimate Penultimatum

Penultimate Penultimatum

A Poem by Analgesia

And with tension drawn like a string

Mounting

Waiting

With days shot dead on sight

We wade through fluid black fabric till alphabetized algorithm of academic ascension footsteps end with a geriatric handshake

Then,

Cut loose to wither-fizzle in the tangle of days,

Mind filled with unfulfilled wanderlust,

We wind ourselves in tired remembrance-

Entranced in kaleidoscope memories

Only for it to begin again

And again.

i was immediately drawn to the absolute humour of the title...or "tittle" as i titalatingly like to call it ;). of COURSE....pause for effect...the aesthetics of the write are perfectly balanced and thus....most pleasing on that "thing" which appreciates such....things....yes...i AM an Oxford Scholar :)....and that long line dedicated to so many syllables and fancy schmancy lingedy reminded me of the phrase "why use a big word when a diminutive one will suffice?" (which is ACTUALLY a question and NOT a phrase)...but seriously...the ever ridiculous cyclical nature of existence is well represented here...i especially liked the word "Mounting" ha ha...great utilization of language and turn of phrase which made this reading experience wholly enjoyable...
