Blues

Blues

A Poem by Analgesia

Lord knows there’s fire in the blues

Let there be smoke and tunes

And it was good

He made man’s heart to keep a beat

Fingers to tap snap and repeat

Or maybe just to push piano keys

On ones and twos; and threes

And then he made man’s mind

So it could twist, wind and find

Something else to do with it’s time

Than think of deep things that rhyme

This is a great way to describe music and how God made us. That maybe he made us to create music. Love the originality of this piece. Very creatively done.

My dad would love this one, as he raised me on Little Feat.

The first line of the second stanza is nothing short of genius; the double-meaning is great. But I really enjoyed the whole thing. The point is nice and clear, and you convey it smoothly without having to repeat yourself or force it on the reader. The rhyming scheme also helps add a bluesy feel to this piece.
Good work.
