In War....

In War....

A Poem by Alla Antsis
"

Blood shed and more blood shed...

"

A parent's grief, a haunting, endless cry,

In hospitals, where hope begins to die.

Resources scarce, the wounded left to fate,

A stark reminder of humanity's true state.

In war's cruel dance, the first to fall is grace,

Retaliation seeks its darkened space.

Born from the depths of anguish and despair,

It blinds the heart, engulfs it in its snare.

Author's Note

Alla Antsis
Humanity is always the first casualty of war. And it is difficult to keep in check when seeking revenge, no matter how justified.

Excellent Work Alla and so true of the Wars currently ongoing. War is hardly ever the real answer and just multiplies the issues that existed in the first place.
A very thoughtful resonant Piece.

Good News ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️
Revenge in war always creates the wounded, chaos, death....all the innocent souls feel the brunt of this violence....war against humanity is the real problem....it's impossible not to kill those who only want to live their lives in peace...and what about the innocent young soldiers who are called up to fight and some are so young and innocent....and those who are real patriots and volunteer, putting their lives on the line....
wars do not stop so fast....even more will die... powerful write Alla, nicely crafted

How true, Marvin! thank you for reading
Your poem is especially poignant, dear Alla Antsis. More so, its insane truth is utterly vulnerable. What's known of the future, what's openly known of the here and now is often hidden from public scrutiny, from what should be accessible headlines. Can only offer prayers and hope, plus continued support in this way and that. Many of us try. But, even more, you go on and on, never meaning to give up and - you won't.

Thank you dear Emma! Appreciate the support!
This one would seem to reflect the current war in the middle east, but of course, the fighting in Ukraine never took a holiday. The writer puts it well; "bloodshed and more bloodshed." Is this "humanity's true state?" God, I hope not, but we are certainly seeing a lot of practice in that direction.

Your author's note says it as well as it can be said, dear Alla Antsis.

'A stark reminder of humanity's true state.'

Think: perhaps the only cure for War and all it means millennia after millennia is - the end of Civilisation as it has become?

Forgive a second review but.. there can never, never be enough or - too many.
" In war's cruel dance, the first to fall is grace "

The hopelessness, futility, degradation, yes indeed, no wins when conflict breaks out between humans, sadly the biggest number of casualities are always the innocent non combatants...

Powerful, profound poetically penned!!
