excellent multimedia pause of a work. the thought line is concrete, yet the image leads the viewer into the abstract possibilities within the laid out. the ending is well done, since both subjects, in both medias, appear to be in such contrast.

the photo is perfect for this poem...can't count how many times i've been that guy lying in the grass...spent...yet relieved that he's finally reached a goal...well written, allen, you've captured that emotion in a few sentences...that's a gift!

Allen writes good poems as well as writing excellent, autobiographical prose. This is a nice shorty, like the juxtaposition of concrete and abstract in the first line,which sort of works against the second line, and the relaxed last couplet, which implies a kind of distance from the you, the waiter.Nice work,
