Someone New

I'm done writing poems about heartbreak,

I'm tired of fighting for your affection.

I've decided it's time for me to awake,

And stop trying to find a connection.

 

I've finally found someone better,

He wouldn't just string me along.

Our romance will be the front header,

Of everyone's new favourite song.

 

It was trial and error, over again.

I just got sick of your game.

This must prove it's final, then,

Though I doubt you feel any shame.

 

I don't think you've learned too much,

A new victim, you'll have soon.

You'll gather her within your clutch,

And for your every word, she'll swoon.

 

But all of it will be a lie,

And she'll never even know.

You'll see someone on the sly,

And your relationship will never grow.

 

I hope you get your just desserts.

You'll never be as happy as me.

You'll finally discover what truly hurts.

Too bad I won't be around to see.

i think i was smirking at the end of this. i really felt the emotion and i was like "yeah, take that!" but i don't even know who this is about. this proves what a great writer you are, keep it up. :D i'll be reading more of your work for sure, you can count on it.
