How I See Van Gogh

How I See Van Gogh

A Poem by Alpris
"

To see the world in Van Gogh's style of painting.

"

people tried to
fix my eyes

I saw enough illusion
in the world as it is

squarehead people stared
when they weren’t really

and they laughed

when they talked

they talked more
than their bodies did

with their eyes, but not with their mouths

at night, sunflowers
strangled me

they wrapped scorching
stems around my throat

I woke up sneezing

and my tears looked like
piss stains

on a smashed glass ocean

                    i'll cut out my eyes

        blind bliss
