Helpless minds drenched with concern

Helpless minds drenched with concern

A Poem by Aly-Cat
"

Wood creaks on a damp deck floor, Sleepless nights are now in store. Fleeing from a pointless war, Hoping now to find the shore.

"

Helpless minds drenched with concern

Wood creaks on a damp deck floor

Sleepless nights are now in store

Fleeing from a pointless war

Hoping now to find the shore

Struggling to breathe clean air

In this mist of new despair

Their lives have been so unfair

There is no way to compare

When will this last ship arrive?

How much longer to survive?

Would it be best just to dive?

Or hope that we all stay alive?

Children below start to cry

Parents hate to say goodbye

This time they don’t want to lie

Tell them it’s okay to die

Hope there will be new and bright

Hope we all will be all right

Hope to live overnight

Hope to one day reunite

Think of home once again

Compare life now, to life then

Finish the prayer, say amen

Close your eyes, and count to ten
