Behind these eyes

For my English class as a demonstration of work

I’m the person who was always there

I’m the person who used to care

I’m the person in the back of your mind

I’m the person who you’ve left behind

I’m the person no one could see
I’m the person I was scared to be

I’m the person who had now lost hope
I’m the person who just couldn’t cope

I’m the person who turns away
I’m the person who appears okay

I’m the person with the perfect disguise
I’m the person that always tries
I’m the person who silently cries
I’m invisible behind these eyes.
