I'm old now and I asked this question many times. I accepted my responsibility is to become the elder like my Grandparent. Love and protect the children. Life is what we leave behind. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry. I like the poetry that make us think.

what a truly original poem, the design is as important to this write as the poem itself, what it speaks of to me is the desire to be free of worldly concerns and I can understand that, its hard to let go the material things as we are deluged by the media that creates our belief in what they say we need, a work of great truth my friend :)

Thank you! The world can put me on overload, it is nice to imagine a more simplistic, beautiful place that is not driven by mindless consumerism. Corporate Media America is pushing many to overlook the true meaning of life.. which is to live in the moment and cherish what is in front of you. Although I am no stranger to forgetting this occasionally and allowing the world's drama to consume me..
