From Pain To Hope

a poem i wrote just now

 

Blood and tears upon my pillow,

my heart in your hands torn to shreds.

A heart without hope and all alone,

I begged for your love but none you gave.

And so I lay in grief and pain,

asking why at how it has gone.

I trusted you with my soul,

and now I lay in fear and pain.

But through it all a light shall shine,

as I dream of a future where you're a memory.

I see things so clearly now,

it wasn't me and it wasn't you.

I loved who I thought you were,

what I thought you'd give.

But that was a dream,

and this is reality.

I'll cling to my shattered dreams,

and beg from myself what I seek.

No more will I roam without a home,

I'll find my own path and make my own dreams.

though it is a hard lesson to accept ~ there is a time we start seeing past the filaments of illusions we've covered the other with and start grasping~and gasping~ at the reality~ a honest and cathartic poem~ very relatable~
